State Representative Eddie Lucio III and a group of dedicated valley wide community volunteers met on October 2009 to develop the first of what we hope will be many Rio Grande Valley Environmental Summits. We realized our true goal to have a successful community event for everyone to share. Thank You for a very successful second annual Valley Environmental Summit. The Summit was held at the McAllen Convention Center on Friday, October 28, 2011.
This year's summit provided breakout sessions in which participants had the opportunity to identified goals and tangible solutions for local environmental issues. The topics included city ordinances of used scrap tires/plastic bags and recycling
